The Victoria Racing Club has been a proud partner of the L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival since 2006, and in the year when Flemington celebrates the 50 years of Fashions on the Field we are delighted to support the event in 2012.

The VRC prides itself on its partnership with the Festival, reinforced by the undisputed synergy between racing and fashion. Since the first Melbourne Cup was run in 1861, fashions at Flemington have played a vital role in our makeup of our events, strengthened by the inception of ‘Fashions on the Field’ in 1962.

Racewear captures the imagination of racegoers, celebrities, international guests and fashion devotees, offering everyone the chance to interpret the global fashion trends and apply their own personal style on the track.

The Melbourne Festival of Racing at Flemington provides all the glamour and appeal of Spring Racing in a relaxed atmosphere.

Highlights of the 2012 Melbourne Festival of Racing include the Beautiful Girls Fashion Lunch on Wednesday 7 March. The highly sort after luncheon features a fashion parade of the latest autumn/winter fashion trends and racewear by Myer and entertainment in keeping with all the style and elegance that Flemington has to offer.

On Saturday 3 March, Flemington will hold Australian Guineas Day – A Classic Day Out for Kids. The grand finale of the Melbourne Festival of Racing is Super Saturday including the season’s best quality group 1 racing and glamorous autumn fashion featuring the Myer Fashions on the Field Women’s and Men’s Autumn Racewear competitions on Saturday 10 March.
