MEET RAE MORRIS

Known widely as the most influential make-up artist working in Australia today, Rae Morris can also boast the titles of L’Oréal Paris Make-up Director, best-selling author and four time Australian Make-Up Artist of the Year.

Born and raised in Brisbane, Rae originally directed her creative talents towards training as a hairdresser however, her true talent quickly emerged. Rae switched brushes and her diary began to fill up with high profile bookings such as Cate Blanchett, Jessica Biel, Pink, Hugh Jackman and top models Miranda Kerr and Catherine McNeil.

As Make-up Director for L’Oréal Paris since 2003, Rae has worked with the country’s key fashion houses and directed make-up for many of Australia’s leading fashion events and runway shows. Rae’s professionalism, creativity and attention to detail enables her to quickly develop a strong rapport with the designers she joins forces with, a list that has included Toni Maticevski, Camilla and Marc, Alannah Hill and Zimmermann to name a few.

Collaborating with some of the world’s leading photographers, Rae has worked on editorial covers plus fashion and beauty spreads in magazines including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Rolling Stone and In Style.

In 2008, Rae launched her first book Makeup: The Ultimate Guide. After worldwide success a second book, Beautiful Eyes: The Ultimate Eye Makeup Guide soon followed and finally a third, Express Make-up, hit international bookshelves in 2010. Rae has recently finished her fourth book, which is scheduled for release early 2012.

When she’s not on assignment, Rae splits her time between Sydney and New York.
