Welcome

Hon. John Brumby

Premier of Victoria

The Victorian Government is proud to support the L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival. This Festival is Australia's largest consumer and retail driven fashion event and showcases the best of Victoria's fashion, retail and creative sectors.

The L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival is an important part of Victoria's comprehensive major events calendar - alongside events such as the Australian Tennis Open, the Australian Formula One Grand Prix and the Melbourne International Film Festival. It is both thought-provoking and crowd-pleasing and I wish the event every success in 2010.

Jacinta Allan MP

Minister for Industry and Trade
Minister for Regional and Rural Development
Victorian State Government

Fashion loving Melbourne is privileged to host Australia's largest retail and consumer driven fashion event - the prestigious, annual L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) - which mentors and showcases Australia's finest designers. This event celebrates Melbourne's fashion sense and promotes many of Victoria's exciting and innovative retailers.

The Victorian Government has been proud to support this Festival since its inception in 1997 and supports the development of new initiatives for the Australian industry, including the Student Showcase and Designer Forum.

The Victorian Government is committed to positioning Melbourne as one of the fashion and shopping capitals of the world and a key destination for international retail investment.  LMFF supports these objectives, while cementing Melbourne's standing as a cultural and events epicentre.

I am sure that the 2010 LMFF will continue to stimulate the local economy while simultaneously providing inspiration and enjoyment for all involved.

Robert Doyle

Lord Mayor, Melbourne

Melbourne is globally recognised as one of the most vibrant and productive cultural centres in the world. Fashion, in all its forms, is enormously important to our cultural identity and local economy. The extent of designs and retail outlets mirrors the diversity, creativity and sophistication of our modern society.

The City of Melbourne is delighted to bring fashion to the people this year with a series of free LMFF Sidewalk presentations and public fashion shows. Now is the time to head into town, soak up the atmosphere, take in the latest fashions and make glamour your middle name.

The City of Melbourne is proud to support the L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival, an exposé of Melbourne's diverse fashion and retail experiences.

Laura Anderson

Festival Chair

During March 2010, all eyes will be on Melbourne where the L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival will once again showcase creativity, innovation and commerce. The best of Australian and international designers will grace the Festival's runways and excite Melbourne's treasured laneways as our city comes alive, celebrating individuality and diversity as well as community and collaboration.

Melbourne's great retailers, big and small, will entice individuals into their stores to experience the essence of the Festival first hand and will highlight areas of creative inspiration that underpin innovation in fashion. Melbourne in March is the place to be...
Inspire and be inspired...

Karen Webster

Inspiring the public, invigorating retail and supporting those who brighten up our lives with their unique and valued expertise.

Capturing the buzz of Australia's largest and most successful consumer fashion event, LMFF puts on the party shoes to tap dance down the catwalk of fun; smile, embrace, engage and soak up the pleasure of great fashion, bold innovation and creative entertainment:
