Leonard Street

Leonard Street

Leonard St is named after a small pocket of London’s East End, where street style always subverts the norm. Hipsters put outfits together with flair and the only rule is that ‘anything goes’. Leonard St draws on this freedom and combines
it with Melbourne’s edgy tastes. In the UK, Amanda worked for a wide range of clients, such as Ealing Studios on feature films, styling George Michael’s album cover and buying for top fashion boutique Stone.

Leonard St presented its first collection in Spring/Summer 2005 with an onslaught of retro styles and florals. Amanda was inspired by her childhood, growing up in a family committed to the rag trade. Her designs focus on strong shapes and silhouettes, echoing her training in design and sculpture. Her desire to effortlessly combine affordable, wearable clothes and accessories with a sophistication, has fast established Leonard St in Melbourne and internationally.

Cooling cottons, floral georgette and high sheen textured fabrics allow femme fatales to run the gamut from bright, sunny mornings through to sultry eves this Spring/Summer. A strong colour palette and original print designs are integral aspects of the label. It offers fresh takes on modern styles for urbanites - a touch of class with a playful edge.
